Rain rain go away! A very wet end to our visit to Newcastle overnight it rained constantly, was still raining as we were hooking up. Hoping as we drove further north we would find it a bit dryer which to our amazement we did. We arrived at Scott’s Head Caravan Park to a lovely dry day was even able to go for a walk along the breach. Unfortunately the fine weather didn’t last we had quiet a fair amount of rain while we were there but still managed to get walks along the beach in between showers. Scott’s Head is a surfing paradise, we felt rather out of it as we didn’t have a surf board on top of our vehicle. Mostly the surfers were bald or grey headed and bowed legged baby boomers still getting out there and riding the waves.
There are two beaches at Scott’s Head Main Breach & Little Beach separated by a headland. Main Beach stretches for miles to the north and is safe for families & has a couple of good surf breaks for the surfers to enjoy. Little Beach is deeper water and the surf is steeper and more powerful.
