On Sunday we set of for the pleasant drive of 186 km to Winton, the road was good and a tail wind. The fuel consumption is looking good, 14l per 100km's.
We arrived at the Matilda Caravan Park and set up on a nice grassy area, had lunch and then went down town for a look around. The town was almost deserted being Sunday. We then returned to the park at approx 3.30. It must be school holdays. How do I know this? Well next to us on return was a camper with 3 rug rats and numerous rug rats running around the park, also behind us was the pool with several kids doing what kids do.
Sunday night we were entertained whilst having a roast meal by Graham Roger, country western singer and two female bush poets, Suzie and Nell, all were good.
On Monday we visited the Waltzing Matilda Centre an exhibit highlighting the achievements of early pioneer's and the story behind the song Watlzing Matilda and Banjo Paterson and a heap of various exhibits. We also stocked up on some cheap fruit and veg. (not) and groceries.
Denise and I are sick as dogs with throat and chest infections and will check out the medical centre today, stuff the dinosaur bones. Also on this blog is a picture of Arno's wall, 2klm of wall that has everything you can imagine concredted in it, from motor bikes, washing machines etc !
Winton really is an amazing place! Stay put until you are feeling better and can enjoy travelling - it's not worth the effort of pushing yourself.
